The

The 2002 Concert Series Performers

3 August
An English guitarist currently living in Belgium, Mr. Gibbs will be performing a concert featuring Bach and pre-baroque guitar music and transcriptions.

7 September
Back by popular demand, Russell Cook’s folk instrument trio (including cello and harp) will once again be heard performing hymns, gospel songs, film music transcriptions and probably an unknown Appalachian favorite or two.

5 October
Second Trumpet of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra from 1976-2000, Bert Truax has recorded and performed widely.  A published composer, this concert will feature a variety of solo and accompanied trumpet repertoire.

2 November
Tarrant Lutheran Chorale consists of about 30 individuals from local churches who share their love for sacred music through performances throughout DFW.  This concert will feature music that anticipates the Advent and Christmas seasons.

8 December*
Festival Service of Lessons and Carols. (Sunday* evening.)
This annual Sunday evening service sponsored by Lord of Life’s music ministry will feature guest performers as well as our own choir and instrumentalists in a service of Scripture readings and traditional carols.

8 February
Basically Brass Quintet (trumpets, trombone, French horn, tuba) will perform a variety of music that will sound superb in the gracious acoustics of Lord of Life’s sanctuary.  LoL’s own Fred Bernhardt will play trumpet in this ensemble.
1 March
This annual organ concert is performed by Lord of Life’s resident organist, Benjamin Kolodziej, Organ, who also serves as chapel organist at SMU's Perkins Chapel.

5 April
Formerly on the faculty of UTA and currently on the faculty at SMU, Burr Phillips, Baritone, is increasingly popular both as a vocal soloist and as a teacher.  He has performed in numerous operas throughout the US.     (See Press Release.)
10 May
Apollo String Trio, composed of Kristin Van Cleve on violin, Kristen Swanson on viola and -- on cello -- Camilla Boatright (of the famous Dallas musical family of Boatrights), will perform a concert of Bach, Mozart and neo-Romantic compositions.     (See Press Release.)
