The Lord of Life Fine Arts Concert Series
strives to facilitate the fulfillment of
The
Great Commandment
Love the Lord your God and Love your neighbor as yourself
by promoting music and the arts
to Plano and North Dallas communities.
The Lord of Life
Fine Arts
Concert Series began in 1999 by Benjamin Kolodziej while organist at Lord of Life and
graduate student at SMU. A committee has been formed to manage and organize concerts to
support the series.

August
An
English guitarist currently living in Belgium, Mr. Gibbs will be
performing a concert featuring Bach and pre-baroque guitar music and
transcriptions. |

September
Back by
popular demand, Russell Cook’s folk instrument trio (including cello and
harp) will once again be heard performing hymns, gospel songs, film music
transcriptions and probably an unknown Appalachian favorite or two. |

October
Second Trumpet of the
Dallas Symphony Orchestra from 1976-2000, Bert Truax has recorded and
performed widely. A published
composer, this concert will feature a variety of solo and accompanied
trumpet repertoire. |

November
Tarrant Lutheran Chorale consists
of about 30 individuals from local churches who share their love for
sacred music through performances throughout DFW.
This concert will feature music that anticipates the Advent and
Christmas seasons. |

Festival Service of Lessons and Carols. (Sunday* evening.)
This annual Sunday
evening service
sponsored by Lord of Life’s music ministry will feature guest performers
as well as our own choir and instrumentalists in a service of Scripture
readings and traditional carols. |

Basically
Brass Quintet
(trumpets, trombone, French horn, tuba) will perform a variety of music
that will sound superb in the gracious acoustics of Lord of Life’s
sanctuary. LoL’s own Fred
Bernhardt will play trumpet in this ensemble. |

This annual organ
concert is performed by Lord of Life’s resident organist, Benjamin
Kolodziej, Organ, who also
serves as chapel organist at SMU's Perkins Chapel. |

Formerly
on the faculty of UTA and currently on the faculty at SMU, Burr
Phillips, Baritone, is
increasingly popular both as a vocal soloist and as a teacher.
He has performed in numerous operas throughout the
US. (See

Apollo
String Trio, composed of Kristin
Van Cleve on violin, Kristen Swanson on viola and -- on cello -- Camilla Boatright (of
the famous Dallas musical family of Boatrights), will perform a concert of Bach, Mozart and
neo-Romantic compositions. (See
