The Lord of Life Fine Arts/Concert Series presents the Brookhaven Flute Choir in concert on Saturday, 19 November at 7pm.  The Brookhaven Flute Choir performs music of all styles from Baroque to jazz on all of the instruments of the flute family.  Featured selections for this program include an arrangement of J.S. The Brookhaven Flute Choir rehearses weekly on the Brookhaven College campus.  Performances have included concerts at the 2003 Texas Music Educators Association convention in San Antonio, the Texas Association of Music Schools annual conference in 2001, the Sigma Alpha Iota National Convention in 2000, and the 2001 National Flute Association Convention where they presented the world premiere of their commissioned work Mariposas by Katherine Hoover.

Dr. Pamela Youngblood is Coordinator of Instrumental Activities and associate professor of music at Texas Woman’s University in Denton where she teaches graduate and undergraduate flute students as well as music courses.  She has been principal flutist and a featured soloist of the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra since 1980.  An active recitalist, she has performed at conventions of the National Flute Association (1999, 2003), the Texas Music Educators Association (2001, 2002), and the National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors (2001). She is also a founding member of the resident performing ensemble Zephyr Winds which is dedicated to the discovery and performance of chamber music for woodwinds.  She is the founder and director of the TWU and Brookhaven Flute Choirs.
