Our Partners in Spreading the Gospel

Changes at Lord of Life from 1991 to 1994.

Christian Education Center wing, completed April
2001. LCEF helped with these
transformations.

Hundreds of church and school buildings have
been transformed from blueprints to brick and
stone since the
Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) began
in 1902.
This fine organization has
been a strong “helping hand” in the history of
Lord of Life Lutheran Church. They had
faith in us when we built our current
sanctuary, and stood by us when we were a
small group trying to undertake a big project.
At a certain point, what we needed was a
“rescue,” and they provided a way out of our
difficulties ― because they knew we were
committed to mission and ministry in Plano. We
confidently turned to LCEF again for help with
the Christian Education Center completed
in April, 2001.
The Lutheran Church Extension
Fund’s primary mission is “to provide space and
place for ministry” through low-interest
loans to LCMS congregations. God has blessed
the LCMS and LCEF by motivating investors ―
mostly ordinary church members ― to put a
portion of their investment funds to work for
the church. To qualify for a loan, LCEF requests
that members of the qualifying congregation
place ten percent of the amount of the
note as investments in LCEF.
LCEF does much more than lend
a hand with building projects. It offers
resources such as the Specialized Ministry Loan
and the new
Professional Church Worker Direct Housing Loan.
LCEF is known for its integrity and
earnest desire to support vital Christian
ministry within the Lutheran
Church-Missouri Synod. Its goal is to make an
eternal difference in the world, through
“inspired investments.”
Lord of Life members who invest with LCEF can
trust that their funds will be in the care of
godly stewards, and that their reward ― beyond
compound interest ― will be in helping not just
our church, but many other churches, to build
the kingdom.
The Lutheran Church Extension Fund
