Advent Midweek Evening Prayer Service at 7:00 pm

Our mid-week Advent Sermon series comes from the Prophet Isaiah. We will focus on chapter 40:1-11. These opening words from our Lord to Isaiah are familiar to us all. “Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem…” (vs. 1) Over the four Wednesdays of Advent this will be our focus as we bring God’s Word of comfort to bear upon a world of often self-inflicted panic and haste. Within this Word comes the prayerful cry of the Christian, “Savior of the Nations, Come.” That will be our Advent theme for 2011. With each mid-week service we’ll pair an Advent hymn to that text for the evening. Please make plans during the week to pause and worship our Advent King.
